YOU ARE NOT TOO OLD TO ACHIEVE GREATNESS

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*YOU ARE NOT TOO OLD TO ACHIEVE GREATNESS.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

John 2:20-22  *Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?*

v21  *Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?*

v22  *Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

You are never too old to achieve greatness in life. Joshua 16:10,12,13 *".....now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.*

*Now therefore give me this mountain,..."*

*And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.*

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Christ had revealed to Peter and the other disciples that He could choose that John would tarry till He comes. John did tarry, Jesus came to him in his last years and he wrote the Revelation of Christ, John 21: 23-24.

While we are encouraged to make good use of time in our youthful age (Eccl 11:9) we also see in the scriptures that God does and make people great achievers in their latter years, Joshua 16: 10-13.

If there is anything Christ wants you to achieve for Him in life, you will not die without achieving such. He will preserve and hasten His word to perform it (Moses at 80 yrs in Exd 7:7, Jer 1: 12, Simeon in Luke 2: 25-34).

The life of Apostle John fondly refered to as John the beloved and the Apostle of love tells us that a man can achieve great things even very late in life.

John, according to early church history found himself on the Isle of Patmos. He had escaped from a cauldron of oil he was placed in due to persecution.

In his old age and on the lsle, Christ appeared to him through series of revelation which he documented in the Book of Revelation, Rev 1.

John was notably the youngest of all the Apostles with a gospel and three in one other epistles (Book of John, l, lll and lll John)

By the time of his writing and eventual death, he outlived all other disciples and was the longest to live and die peacefully.

There is no time in life that the sun cannot rise on someone.

Even to the last drop of life, a person can achieve great things.

As it was then, so it is in today's world. Current affairs in social, economic and financial platforms have shown that age has ceased to be a barrier to achieving great things.

In the absence of age restrictions, people have become Presidents of nations and others became great achievers economically at ages well over 50, 60, 70 years and still counting. Such truth still remains today.

The man who started one of the largest American fast food restaurant chain was 62 when he franchised his secret recipe for a fast food restaurant for the first time.

Today it is reported to be second largest fast food restaurant in the US.

By the time of his death, estimated outlets of his fast food restaurant had grown significantly in the thousands and in countries worldwide with estimated billion of dollars in sales.

Feeling you are running out of time?

Time may look as if it is not on your side but with God on your side, time can redeemed and gained.

You are not too old to achieve.

You are not old but new because God has made you new.

*Remorse corner*.

God is able to make all things beautiful for you, in His time. Age is not a barrier to Him.

*Call to Word action.*

Eccl 3: 10-11  *I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.*

*He hath made every thing beautiful in his time:*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

It may seem over to you but it cannot be over when God is working out something in your life.

*Prayer*

Lord, make all things new for me. Hasten your word to perform it in my life, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today

God bless you.
