YOU ARE NOT A WALK OVER.

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*YOU ARE NOT A WALK OVER.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Isaiah 51:23-24 *Thus saith thy Lord the LORD, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again*

*But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee, who have said to thy soul, ‘Bow down, that we may go over.’ And thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street to them that went over.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Gal 5:1 (NIV) *It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.*

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Some like to oppress.

Christians do face oppression in the form of being walked over.

You are oppressed when people walk over you.

People walk over you when you are exploited or treated in an inconsiderate manner.

People take Christians for granted.

They use oppression as a yoke of slavery on the Christian.

Peter identifies two categories of how people treat us without respect.

First, we suffer for doing what is right.

It is not always pleasant for believers to bear with peoples' lack of respect for the him/her.

The Apostle Peter says in 1 Pet 3:14 that when we suffer for doing what is right, *".....God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.*

Peter further comforts us, saying in 1 Peter 3:15-16 *"....in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,*

*But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear.*

Peter warns us that we can be defensive yet not losing our character after the manner of Christ.

He finally says, God would rather prefer that we suffer from peoples' comment or attitudes when we do well but God would not like us being checked and condemned for evil doing because evil doing must not be seen among us.

*Remorse corner.*

While we stand against being pushovers, we must not compromise God's standard of holy Christian living and conduct.

*Call to Word action.*

Christ would want you to abide and

1 Petr 3:17

17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

When people speak against you, let them be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.

*Prayer.*

Lord, in the midst of enemy assault teach me how to refuse evil and choose the good in defense, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
