VICTORY OVER UNFORTUNATE SETBACKS

Gen 37:8 And his brothers said to him, “Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words.

Insight and Highlight

Undeserved or unfortunate setbacks do come to the believer but we must remember that God, in our setback, is working us to a comeback.

Scripture Commentaries

Joseph, Job among many others in the scriptures remain a perfect example of people who suffer unfortunate setbacks. Though as perfect examples of innocent sufferers, they remain less perfect than Jesus who died, paid with His life to resurrect again.

No one can explain the injustices of life more than the sufferers who went through them.

The badness of life just has to happen for you to truly understand its pains, victories, and complexities.

Joseph, Job remain examples of life's greatest tragedies. They typify how people, by error or transparency out of our pure hearts, create "perfect" conditions for people to hate them.

There is a maxim that goes "very little or minute things can cause serious setbacks and massive tragedies". This is corroborated in Songs of Solomon 2:15 " ...little foxes destroy the vine..."

A wrong word, move, the choice had destroyed many and cut their lives short.

They are life's unfortunate setbacks.

Very unfortunate yet not deserved!

The victory God gives us is that these unfortunate setbacks actually put us on the path to fulfill the success dreams we have always had.

Remorse corner

Learning from our bad experiences and of others is key. However learning from the scriptures is most vital, it will keep us out of harm’s way.

Call to Word action

Life will not give us what we deserve. Only when we trust in God in difficult times of unexpected setbacks, can we be rest assured, God can use even the most evil actions to bring about the complex good, Gen 50:20.

The Christian clarion duty

God's providence through a series of wise actions, gift of interpretations etc Joseph eventually became what God destined for him

Prayer

Lord help me, like Joseph, to wait “patiently for the Lord,” confident that His purpose for me is for my good always, and that He is still in control, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
