*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*WHO IS A SPIRIT FILLED*
*BELIEVER?*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Gal 5: 19-21 *Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,*
*Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,*
*Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Gal 5:25 *If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.*
*Scripture Commentaries.*
No passage in the Bible draws a clearer contrast between the lifestyle of the Spirit-filled believer and that of the person controlled by the sinful human nature than Gal 5:16-26.
The sinful nature remains within the Christians after their conversion and is their deadly enemy because anyone who practices the acts of sinful nature cannot inherit God's Kingdom, Gal 5:21.
A person who is Spirit filled is known in three ways, (in addition to other sanctifying works of the Spirit).
First, in them is the Fruit of the Spirit, Gal 5: 22-23. They practice these virtues over and over again.
They will never find a reason why they should not practice and walk in these Godly virtues and living according to these principles.
Paul says of the fruit of the Spirit *"....against such there is no law."*
This means the Spirit Filled believers will never discover a law prohibiting them from walking in the fruit of the Spirit.
Paul further says about them in
Gal 5:24-25 *And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.*
Second, a person becomes a Spirit filled believer if he is able to resist the sinful nature (Gal 5: 19-24) and put it to death continually through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Any person controlled by one or many of these works of the flesh is carnally minded. Such is not a believer, he is only an assumed believer who may never have truly known Jesus as he claimed to have done.
Paul says, they do not possess eternal salvation, they shut themselves out of the Kindgom of God, 1 Cor 6:9.
Third, a person becomes a Spirit filled
if he allows the Spirit to so direct and influence his life and walk in fellowship with God, Rom 8:14.
Paul teaches that it is possible to shut oneself out of the Kingdom of God by engaging in evil practices, ref Gal 6:4.
Are you a Spirit filled believer?
You are known to be so, when you prove your *"....own work,...."* Gal 6:4.
Paul is saying; you prove yourself by what you do. He says in Gal 6:7 *Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap*
*Remorse corner.*
You are either walking in the sinful nature or in the Spirit. Which road are you on?
Are you a Spirit filled believer?
*Call to Word action.*
Galatians 6:8 *For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Gal 6:3 *For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.*
Those who claim to be born-again, Spirit filled followers of Christ while at the same time consciously sowing to please the sinful nature are guilty of mocking and despising God.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to walk and sow in the Spirit, in Jesus name.
Good morning all and be blessed as you come into His presence.
God bless you.
