*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*WHEN WOUNDS ARE FAITHFUL...*
*Scripture Treasure.*
.Proverbs 27:6 *Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
When wounds are faithful than kisses.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
There are two sides of illustrating Solomon' words in Prov 27:6.
We will look at the first today.
First, he expresses a faithful soul who loves you enough to promote your goodwill and reputation. When he rebukes you, Prov 27:5, though it may be hard to swallow, and it may cause you pain, but it is for your good.
Accept it as faithful saying.
Truth is bitter. This saying is so because people often deceive themselves and others from the truth.
People do not like to be chastised. Most people are not teachable.
So, a good friend will not because he does not want you hurt would refuse to tell you the truth
There is a maxim which goes: 'The wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine', so goes the truth that though truth may take a slow pace, it will eventually be served with justice.
if you are often rebuked but refuse, truth will catch up with you, and you will realize how faithful and true the friend who rebuked you was.
As a true friend, rebuke and reproof your friend.
As a friend rebuked, accept the rebuke though it may wound your conscience, you will at last appreciate the truth.
Never leave it too late to accept corrections.
*Remorse corner.*
Though his rebuke wounds, he will bring healing to you unto life.
*Call to Word action.*
Proverbs 29:1 *He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed and that without remedy".*
*The Christian Clarion call.*
You will not regret you heeded to the truth. It is better than listening to flatteries.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to believe the truth, though it causes wounds and hurts, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
