WHEN WE DISOBEY......(5)
*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*WHEN WE DISOBEY.....(5)*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Matthew 15:8 *This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips*; *but their heart is far from me.”*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Let us always allign and check out our thoughts and actions whether they fit into God's commandments.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Disobedience does not start from the moment a person manifests it.
It starts from the heart just like any other sin.
What makes this particular sin what it is is that it is publicly made manifest.
Some sins could be hidden from the children of men, but sins like disobedience is blatantly obvious.
God sees the heart of everyone. This tells us that even before sin is committed, God already sees the heart of the sinner.
Children of men deceive others, but God can not be deceived.
When we disobey, we disobey from the heart. The heart is rotten and can not be after God's heart.
The heart is taken over by Satan.
Ezk 14:13 says Satan's rebellion started from his heart, *"For thou hast said in thine heart,...."*
When a person disobeys God from his heart, his heart is up for grabs by Satan.
How is your heart, or better still, what is in your heart?
*Remorse corner.*
God rejected Saul when God saw his heart was not right with God. He therefore chose a man after His heart, 1 Sam 13:14, Acts 13:22.
*Call to Word action.*
God rejected Eli and chose for Himself
*"......a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.* (1 Sam 2:35).
*The Christian clarion duty.*
From the good heart comes obedience, and from an evil heart comes disobedience.
If we fail to guard our hearts, God's way, we will disobey God, Prov 4:23.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to guard my heart with all diligence, in Jesus name.
Good morning and ge blessed as you come into His presence today.
God bless you.
