WHEN WE DISOBEY.....(2)

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*WHEN WE DISOBEY.....(2)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

John 13:16 *Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Our obedience to God is for our own good.

John 13:17 *Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.*

*Scripture Commentaries.*

An obedient follower of Jesus will be like his Leader, Jesus.

Jesus says in Luke 6:40 *A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.*

Jesus earlier said in a parable,in Luke 6:39 *Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit?*

This word of Jesus has a relevance in obedience.

Besides, an obedient disciple being like his master, his ability to lead others right rests on his obedience to his own teacher.

If he is under authority, he is not blind spiritually. He is able to see.

If, however, he disobeys, claiming to be above his teacher, he is nothing but a blind who leads the blind.

He is spiritually blind, 1 John 2:11, so also the people he leads.

Jesus' parable is both applicable in the physical and more appropriately applicable for this discussion in the spiritual.

Disobedience is sin and could have consequences of physical blindness just as other sins (ref Acts 9: 8, 13:12)

If we wish to serve God, we must be obedient to Him.

Jesus encourages those who obey yet are disobeyed.

He says He as an obedient Son is hated and people, especially those to whom He was sent, did not believe Him, Mark 6:4-6, John 15:18-21.

Let us be encouraged to obey God and authorities. Do not be discouraged when people disobey. They will only have themselves answerable to God, Rev 22:9-14.

When we disobey God, we undo ourselves.

Obey. lt is for your own good!

*Remorse corner.*

A disobedient in office is like a blind man assuming the office of a guide.

*Call to Word action.*

Matthew 8:9 *For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Anyone who wants to be in authority must be under authority.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to be obedient, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
