WHEN WE DISOBEY.....
*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*WHEN WE DISOBEY.....*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Isaiah 48:18 *Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
When we disobey at any level, we disobey God.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Our decisions influence and affect God's plans for us.
God said He rejected Saul because he rejected His word, 1 Sam 15:23.
When the people rejected Samuel' sons and requested a king, God said to Samuel that *"....they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me,..."*, 1 Sam 8:6-7.
Saul of Tarsus persecuted the church. He was in defiance and totally against God's plan. When He encountered Jesus, He told Saul ,*"....I am Jesus whom thou persecutest..."* Acts 9:5.
In all we do in life, God is made manifest as the divine custodian and at the center of obedience.
By the life of Jesus, Heb 5:8 tells us how important obedience is.
It is so important that God had to make an example of how Jesus learned obedience, Heb 5:8.
If you find yourself stiffnecked and refuse to be obedient, you must learn obedience by the things you will suffer (ref Heb 5:8).
The psalmist says he received comfort through the word of God that gave him life, Ps 119:50.
Ps 119:71, the psalmist says that affliction had made him learn God's statute.
It shows us that one of the first steps to pleasing God is the school of learning obedience.
God hates disobedience. When we disobey, affliction is on our way to ensure we obey God.
If God did not spare His Son, Jesus, saying about Him that *Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;*, He will not spare you anyway to tolerate disobedience.
Be obedient!
*Remorse corner.*
If we fail in obedience, God may allow afflictions to teach us to obey.
*Call to Word action.*
Psalm 119: 71 *It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Because Christ learned obedience by the things He suffered, He was made perfect and thus became qualified to be *....the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him..."*, Heb 5:9.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to be obedient to Your word. Please help me not to fall into affliction before l obey You, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
