*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*WHEN PAINS FORCES YOUR HANDS.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Genesis 32:24-32

*And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.*

*And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.*

*And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.*

*And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.*

*And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.*

*And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.*

*And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.*

*And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh.*

*Therefore the children of Israel eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day: because he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh in the sinew that shrank.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Jacob prayed all night in pain.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

When the Man saw that He had not prevailed against Jacob, He touched his hip joint; and Jacob’s hip was dislocated as he wrestled with Him.

Jesus prayed in pain and agony in the Garden, where his anguish was so great that his sweat became like drops of blood.

He prayed preparing for His suffering and death on the cross.

Luke 22:44 *And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.*

Elijah pray in discomfort.

1 Kgs 18:42 *So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,*

Samuel prayed all night though troubled

when God told him He regretted that He

*"......set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.*, 1 Sam 15:11.

Pain or agony are enough reasons to discourage praying but rather than keep Jacob apart from God, it drew him closer.

Agony was enough to keep Jesus away from praying but he continued to pray fervently to the extent of drops of blood coming out of his body.

It is not the extent of the pain you are going through that may be troubling but getting your much awaited results that will provides much relief from your troubles that will be most important

Pain and agony have a way of forcing your hands to close or clamp or raised together in prayer.

When pains closes your hands together, Jesus offers His hands to open them by lifting you up.

Psalm 30:1 *I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.*

Are you praying?

*Remorse corner.*

It is not what you suffered that may matter but the success you eventually achieved through God who saved you.

*Call to Word action.*

Rather than fold your hands, hold them together, clasped, closed together or lifted up before God in prayer.

Luke 24:50 *And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

When situations become unbearable and unsustainable for us, bad situations, will potentially force the hands of the true believer to pray.

*Prayer.*

Lord let me draw nearer to You rather than be drawn away from You, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have have a blessed day.

God bless you.

Shalom.
