*WISDOM FOR TODAY.* *WHEN LITTLE IS MORE.* *Scripture Treasure.* Proverbs 17:1 ---► *Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.* *Insight and Highlight.* There are times having little with joy is better than having more with vexation Eccl 4:6--► *One open hand full of quietness and rest is preferable to two closed hands full of toil and vain effort.* *Scripture Commentaries.* Solomon warns us in Eccl 11:9 that we enjoy ourselves in our youth, *"and walk in the ways of thine heart,..."* but we must know *".....that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.*" He admonishes the goodness of life (Eccl 3:12-13) and also the futility of life and his hatred of life, Eccl 2:17. The maxim that goes: "life is like a rollercoaster. It has its ups and downs. But. it's your choice to scream or enjoy the ride" corroborates this. Looking at life, the way it presents itself, if we go by this maxim it is often difficult to determine those who are screaming for fear or excitements. Almost every rider screams but is it all in excitement or fears? Such is life, no wonder Jesus says *"....my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives....."*, John 14:27. Only life lived in the fear of God, in godliness and contentment will bring great gain, 1 Tim 6:6. There are so many "make believe" in life. There are people who live lives pretending or imagining that things are better than they really are. So Solomon also warns us not to fulfil everything our eyes desire. He said he looked upon all he had labored to have, he said all was vanity. There are times when the little we have in joy is better than much we have that carry travails and troubles. Be careful how you live your life. There are times "a bird in hand is better than two in the bush." Becareful of needless toil which leads to pursuit of the wind. *Remorse corner.* Eccl 2:11 ► *Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.* *Call to Word action.* If we fail to restrain ourselves from fulfilling all our eyes desire, we will accept *" Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.*, Prov 15:16 *The Christian clarion duty.* Proverbs 15:16-17► *Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.* *Prayer* Help me to live a life of contentment, in Jesus name. Good morning all and have a blessed day today. God bless you.
