WHEN HEARING IS ENOUGH FAITH.
*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*WHEN HEARING IS ENOUGH FAITH.*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Rom 10:17 *So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Your faith is made strong when you hear the word of God. It gets stronger when you continue hearing it.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Every word of God comes with the faith and power to receive it.
Paul admonishes us that there is power in what we hear.
He further admonishes us that there is more power in when 'to hear' becomes
continuous.
In other words, *...hearing by the word of God"* explains the present continuos active process when a person continues to hear.
Hearing the word of God over and over again establishes the word of God in our hearts.
Paul may have used 'to hear' in conjuction with 'hearing for the following reasons
First, not all who hear have understanding, but hearing becomes faith when it increases learning. In other words, those who hear with faith increase in learning and attain understanding.
To submit to hearing the word of God simply means you are craving for more understanding.
Prov 1:5 says about wisdom that *"A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:*
Second, Paul used 'to hear' in conjuction with 'hearing in order to reinforce the word of God in our hearts and to increase or brighten the likelihood of message retention.
Third, Jesus used the word 'hear' in several places, especially in the parable of the sower, Matt 13:18-23. In this parable, Jesus teaches and establishes that though people hear, they may not do what they hear. The Word of God enters into their ears and goes out. Furthermore, they have the power to shut off hearing completely.
He, however, used 'hear' in conjuction with *'To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;'* (Prov 1:2-3).
He said in John 10:27 *My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:*
Fourth, Paul may be saying here that there is no good reason why someone will hear the word of God and will not desire to keep on hearing. To keep on hearing is to keep on believing (ref John 1:12).
Fifth, Paul is saying that anytime the Word of God is released, both the faith for people to believe and also the faith to accept are released. These are both the working of the one same faith.
So no one really has any reason to reject it, but people do because they resist God through the hardness of their hearts and unbelief.
1 Cor 2:4 says the word of God comes with power. The ultimate reason is to change someone's life, so it comes with the power to receive it.
God does not want His word to come back to Him void, Is 55:11
The word of God becomes ineffective in some people's lives not because there is no power behind it but because they reject the power behind it, Mark 6:4-6.
God has sent His word, and He keeps sending it with the faith to believe it.
Do not reject the faith that comes with it.
You have heard the Word, keep on hearing it, and believe it.
*Remorse corner.*
When God sends His words, He opens ears that will grasp them through the faith that He releases to us and the faith He expects to come from us.
*Call to Word action.*
We also hear from God when we read His word. (Acts 8:26-40).
Acts 8:27-29
*And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians,.....*
*Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.*
*Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
There is no place where the Holy Spirit is present that you will not receive His visitation.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to accept the faith that comes with hearing Your word, in Jesus name.
Good morning all and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
