WHEN GOD IS ANGRY.....(4)
*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*WHEN GOD IS ANGRY.....(4)*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Genesis 6:6-7 *And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.*
*And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
To avoid God's anger is better than pacifying Him once He declared intentions of judgment known.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Pacifying God after mischief may be like medicine after death.
It is better to avoid making God angry than to hope to seek to plead with Him after the michief is done.
It is important for us to know this.
Particularly noteworthy is the threshold God has when He makes up His mind in anger.
God has a threshold, and there is a limit as to what He could tolerate.
In Numb 14: 22, God said the Israelites had tempted Him *".....now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;*
In spite of Moses' intercession, God still went on to judge.
The carcases of those who sinned fell in the wilderness while their children wandered in the wilderness forty years, Numb 14:2-33.
Other examples are:
God told Moses not to talk Him into changing His judgment against Him, Deut 3:26.
Jer 15:1 and Ezk 14:1 tell us that God said though Moses and Samuel, Noah, Daniel and Job prayed to Him, He would not listen to avert His judgment over Israel and Judah.
Nathan told David he would not die, and though he admitted his sin, he suffered the consequences, 2 Sam 12. His punishment went unabated throughout his reign as king as a father.
Think of the consequences of reprisal from God before you sin. God hates sin, and He is angry when we sin.
*Remorse corner.*
When God is angry, the sinner finds himself in the hands of an angry God. His judgment will be very fierce.
*Call to Word action.*
Hebrews 10:31 *It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
It is better to be careful with God so that His judgment does not come upon us rather than have to appease Him after His judgment had been pronounced or metted.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me. Do not let me make you angry, in Jesus name.
Good morning all and have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
