*WHEN GOD IS ANGRY....*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Psalm 90:11 *Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Psalm 76:7 *Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?*

*Scripture Commentaries.*

God has emotions, and we must carefully respect how He feels at any time.

People do play with His emotions, and this did not start today, 1 Sam 3:18.

Before we go on to look at - when God is angry - we are comforted by two verses of the scriptures that tell us that though God can be angry, we can be sure that He has control over it

First is in Psalm 30:5 *For his anger endureth but a moment;* in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Second, Ps 103: 9 says, *He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger forever'.*

These two scriptures tell us that God can be angry but has also limited Himself to His resolve to shorten His anger in order to allow for a change of mind in response to our prayer and repentance.

The question, however, is who can stand His anger even within the shortness of time He vented His anger?

Nahum 1:6 says, in the form of a question, *"Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.*

Habakkuk says in form of a plea, saying in Hab 3:2 *O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.*

His emotion in anger is a clear call and a warning signal to everyone who fears God.

It tells us that God sets boundaries and that if anyone crosses these known boundaries, he has only acted in defiance and insolence and must be dealt with.

God can be angry, but we can avoid making Him angry.

Live to please God and make Him happy.

*Remorse Corner.*

When God judges sin in His anger, it is to justify His holiness to judge unrighteousness.

*Call to Word action.*

Hab 1:13 *Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

God can not see sin and pretend that He has not seen one. It will not matter who has sinned. He is not a respecter of persons, Acts 10:34, Rom 2:11.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to please You.

Let me not see your anger in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
