*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*WHAT ROOT IS SPRINGING OUT FROM YOU?*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Matthew 15:13.
*But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
What is planted in the soil of your heart?
Galatians 6:7 says *'A man will reap what he sows..."* in the soil of his heart.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Jesus' attention was drawn to the Pharisees' reaction to His teaching.
The Pharisees neither did not accept God's word nor teachings that originated from God.
The parable of the sower best illustrates Jesus' use of the agricultural word 'planting'.
The word of God is like a seed planted, the heart of man is the soil, Matt 13:1-23.
What you plant, grows downward as a root and shoots or grows to bear fruit upwards
Isaiah 37:31 says *And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:*
As God's word is planted, the devil plants his own, (The parable of the tares, Matt 13:24-30).
Every word falls on a soil because it is planted through teaching and it takes root through which it is nourished.
A 'word planted" refers to receiving the Word of God into one's heart, where it can take root, grow, and produce spiritual fruit.
What takes root in a man will determine what he will become.
If false teaching takes root in a person, he will bear false fruit.
What you feed yourself (plant in the soil of your heart) is what grows in you. A healthy spiritual food nutritionalizes the root, grows into a tree that bears good fruit, while a corrupt one produces bad fruit.
If the teachings of Christ takes root in the heart of a person, he will bear good fruit.
Jesus' words in Matt 15:13 spells out the need for every Christian to distinguish between what is of God and what is not, and to discard that which is not good, just as a gardener uproots weeds.
We must be careful of what takes root in us.
The bible traces everything to roots.
Hebrews 12:15, warns believers to watch out for a bitter root that can spring up, cause trouble, and defile many, leading them to fall short of God's grace.
Deut 29:18 says *Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;*
The root is a foundation and it will only produce what is planted in the soil.
A person's true character is revealed by their "fruit." In Matthew 7:15–20, Jesus tells us warning against false prophets, stating that we will recognize them by their fruits.
A person's words and actions will ultimately reveal what is in their heart, regardless of their outward appearance or claims.
What do you hear? What do you allow to be sowed in your heart or what do you sow in it?
What is growing from the root of your heart? What is rooted in it?
What root is springing out from you?
*Remorse corner.*
The word of God is the seed. Your heart is the soil wherein the root is. If you allow the word of God to take root it will have a lasting place in your spiritual life and His kingdom.
*Call to Word action.*
Evil can also spring out from a root. If you are bitter, your root will give it 'life' of malice and bitterness.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
God plants good seed. He encourages us not to allow what is not from Him to find root in us.
*Prayer.*
Lord, please root out whatever You have not planted in my life in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
Shalom.
