*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*WALKING FREE.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

2 Cor 5:17

*Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new*

*Insight and Highlight.*

We can walk free with God as the redeemed though the flesh is not redeemed.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

We walk free when we walk with Him blameless and without sin, Gen 17:1.

We are remade in God's creation the day we gave our lives to Jesus Christ.

We are made free, old things are passed away and all things are new. The old man of sin is replaced by the new man after Christ.

All things are new. New image, new nature, new man, new life: sanctified, pure and holy, but how free are we from the flesh and sin?

Does our flesh have a voice?

Does our flesh still speak?

Does our flesh influence our thoughts and how does it militate or contend with our new nature in Christ?

In this series we will look at Paul's statement of the Christian's new birth. How free does the Christian walk after salvation, or does he really walk free from his flesh after salvation?

Today we will look at what Paul really means by *"....old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new*

We must remember nothing (that is: old covenant with sin) and/or power of the flesh should dominate your present or destroy God's plan when God is in it or is in you.

We must understand that though we are new creation, the flesh we dwell in has not been destroyed. God left it there and so the flesh is active, acting as an inner conflict between a person's sinful nature ("flesh") and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Through this flesh, we are reminded that though we are redeemed, sinful flesh is not redeemed.

Through this flesh we are reminded that though we are redeemed, the flesh and its inclination are not erased.

The flesh serves as a constant enticing reminder of pleasures that come with satisfying it. The Spirit tells us that satisfying it has certain serious consequences. The Spirit helps us to fight against the flesh so that we may walk free with God.

The flesh can still "speak" but we must not make its voice dominant.

Paul teaches us that in the flesh remains lust and several other sinful desires.

Gal 5:16 *This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.*

The flesh keeps telling you, you are a natural man desiring natural things but walking in the Spirit will redefine doing natural things like eating, choosing friends, consumating relationship in ways that, though both believers and unbelievers do these, will be done in God's holy and blameless way.

He further says in Gal 5:17 *For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.*

Understanding these aspects is crucial for walking in the freedom of God's forgiveness for new life.

The flesh is a constant reminder of the battles we must fight in order to walk free with Jesus.

Do you want to walk free with Jesus?

Resist the flesh as you would resist Satan and you will walk free with Jesus

*Remorse corner.*

The flesh is a constant reminder of battles to face but must not be dominant

*Call to Word action.*

We dwell in the body of flesh, though we are redeemed.

Through this flesh, we are reminded that though we are redeemed, sinful flesh is not redeemed.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Your inclination or the strong and the uncontrolled desires of the flesh can be a selfish desire or a curse. It can be cured if you walk in the Spirit.

*Prayer.*

Lord, let not the flesh influence my freedom with Christ. Help me to walk free with Christ through the Spirit in Jesus, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.

Shalom.
