WALK HUMBLY BEFORE GOD
*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*WALK HUMBLY BEFORE GOD.*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Psalm 119:71 *It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Why wait for God's affliction to set you in His path when He has shown you what He requires of you to please Him.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
God humbles us through what we go through by way of distress or afflictions.
When things are going well with us, most people often feel they do not need God.
We express our successes to our know-how rather than gratitude to God from our hearts.
Our pride calls for His afflictions.
When we are proud, we are calling for His afflictions in order to humble us.
The psalmist says before his afflictions came, when he had no problems, he did not think of God. He went astray from Him, Psalm 119:67.
When God humbled him through afflictions, he learned God's ways, Psalm 119:71, and now kept His word.
Psalm 119:67 *Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.*
We must, however, know that not all who are going through afflictions are experiencing such because they were proud to God.
Some afflictions or challenges do come as a suffering of the faith.
Watch your ways. You should know why you are going through what you are going through.
If it is because you are not humble to God, amend your ways, and He will restore.
If your ways are right with Him, it is a suffering of sonship, and He will see you through, Rom 8:17, 2 Tim 2: 12.
God can not deny Himself, 2 Tim 2:13
You will not die in your challenges, in Jesus name
*Remorse corner.*
It is better for us to humble ourselves than for God to humble us through the suffering He may allow us to go through.
*Call to Word action.*
Hosea 10:12 *Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the LORD, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Micah 6:8 *He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?*
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to walk humbly before you. Let me not attract your wrath, in Jesus name.
Good morning, all, and be blessed as you go today.
God bless
