*WISDOM FOR TODAY.* *UNFAMILIAR WITH GOD?* *Scripture Treasure.* Exodus 5:1-2 ► *And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.* *And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go.* *Insight and Highlight.* Familiarity with God when badly managed breeds contempt. A person who treats God as unfamiliar often, if not, in all cases, faces just as the same damnation as the one who takes his familiarity with God for granted. *Scripture Commentaries.* True to talk, Pharaoh of Egypt did not know God in reverent fear neither did he know God as LORD. Egypt was a heathen nation. Everything according to Egyptian tradition had an idol behind it, namely the river, the animal, the vegetation, fertility, sun, the moon etc. Pharaoh, just as, people who despise God, fulfil the truth that some were born and by the wrong choices they make, fulfil the prophecies of destruction. Romans 9:17 ► *For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.* Inspite of different warnings from God, Pharaoh was adamant on his reluctance to let Israel go. Both who take familiarity with God for granted and they who do not know God at all must walk in the path of their destruction to fulfil a prophecy. Remember God did not just decide to harden Pharaoh's heart. He hardened Pharaoh's heart because Pharaoh's heart was already hardened, Exd 7:13, 8:15, 19, 9:7. Whether you choose to harden your heart against God or you choose to know Him as LORD, remember either way, God wins with honors always: Exd 14:4, 28 ► *And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord. And they did so.* *And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.* Whom will you choose, today, for God or against God? *Remorse corner.* It is God's desire we know Him. Anyone who decides not to know or obey God has made such a choice to do so by himself. A man after God will not harden himself against the same God that made him. *Call to Word action.* Ps 51:10 ► *Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.* *The Christian clarion duty.* It is a good choice to know and follow God as LORD. Micah 6:8 ► *He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?* *Prayer* Psalm 51:6 ► *Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.* Cleanse my heart that l may know wisdom. Help me to live a life to teach transgressors your ways; that sinners who do not know you shall be converted unto you, in Jesus name. Good morning all and have a blessed day. God bless you.
