TREASURES OF INESTIMABLE VALUE.
Scripture Treasure.
1 Kgs 3:13 And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.
Insight and Highlight.
When we pray, God can give us expectations and fulfilments of what we did not ask for.
Scripture Commentaries.
Matt 7:13-14 tells us to ask to receive from God.
This, Jesus says, because "....every one that asketh receiveth;..."
Eph 3:20 tells us that God is "...able to do, exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,...
Paul tells us that in addition to what we ask, God can do more by giving us what we wish or desire. In addition to our spoken request, our wishful thoughts can receive answers from God.
In contrast to the maxim that says
'If wishes were horses, beggars would ride", which means if wishing could make things happen, then even the most destitute people would have everything they wanted, however with God, according to Eph 3:20, we can have what we wish because God can make it to happen.
Whatever we are lacking or begging God for, or whatever we are destitute of, God can make them happen.
In other words, with God, our wishes can be horses to ride on.
In addition to these, there is also, however, a unique and distinct attribute of God to give us what we did not ask for.
Solomon was a beneficiary of this unique blessing.
God, not only gave him all he asked for, he gave him what he did not ask for.
The unexpressed requests, the requests we do not speak to God in prayer are able to find expression in receiving.
James teaches us that God screens prayers.
Not all who ask receive because God sifts through the motives behind prayers.
Furthermore, it is not just compulsory to ask. It is important to ask aright.
James tells us that we may ask yet not receive. He gives us a reason, namely, we ask amiss to consume upon our lustful desires.
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Therefore, when God gives us what we do not ask for, it teaches us of God's exceeding abundance.
It teaches us that God has provisions that are more than enough to satisfy us and not less than we need.
It teaches us that God is All-sufficient, more than able, and has inestimable provisions, too valuable or excellent to be measured.
To receive blessings that we did not ask God for is one of the most esteemed honors given by God to any mortal.
Such mortal honor to Solomon was unmatched in biblical history.
Solomon deserved admiration. What he received was inestimable.
God had told him before his esteemed honor of inestimable treasures that He was giving him wisdom "....so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee., 1 Kings 3:12.
Solomon's gift of what he did not ask God for was treasure of inestimable value.
God further said "....there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days., 1 Kgs 3: 13b.
Silver was made as common as stones in the days of Solomon, 1 Kings 10:27, 2 Chron 1:15.
Do you wish to receive the prestigious and esteemed honor of inestimable treasure from God?

There was a condition for Solomon to qualify for this special privilege.
His prayer pleased God!
Call to Word action.
1 Kgs 3:10 And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.
