WISDOM FOR TODAY.
THINK BEFORE YOU SEPARATE.
Scripture Treasure.
Acts 15:39 And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;
Insight and Highlight.
Think again before you separate yourself. You might need the one you separated from later.
2 Tim 4:11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.
Scripture Commentaries.
Many people have separated from people whom they may eventually need to help fulfill their purposes in life.
Many singles and partners have impatiently separated.
Paul separated from Barnabas and Mark for merely circumstantial rather than intentional reasons.
This is also common to the aforementioned.
For our peaceful coexistence with people, we must understand times.
While some people do things intentionally, some do things unintentionally. Their errors can be traceable to circumstances beyond their control.
In 2 Kgs 4:1, the certain woman was in debt because her husband had died
and told Elisha that ....the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.
Circumstances can create errors, faults, disappointments, famine, poverty, sickness, death, etc.
Circumstantial reasons may be very long, temporary, and unbearable, but we must not see them as an end.
The bible teaches us not to quickly detach from people or believers because of errors that may be circumstantial but not intentional (ref
In our reading of today, we see the rift between Paul and Barnabas involving Mark. The unwarranted disagreement caused unnecessary separation. Paul would later ask that Mark be brought to him because he is ....profitable to me for the ministry, 2 Tim 4:12.
This tells us that if we seperate from people due to errors, mistakes, disappointments that are circumstantial rather than intentional, (ref Heb 13:3), God will create a vacuum in our lives that will make us crave their reconciliation.
The vacuum God creates will not just be an ordinary one but will be such that we can only be profitable if they are back with us.
In other words, we will be unprofitable or unfulfilled if we are without them.
Maintain relationship.
There is no one who will not need someone now or anytime in the future.
Remorse corners.
Heb 13: 3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
Call to Word action.
Heb 13:1 Let brotherly love continue.
The Christian clarion duty.
Though you may be provoked in relationships, be careful not to be like Moses who .....spake unadvisedly with his lips. Psalm 106: 33.
Prayer.
Lord, help me to bring joy to my neighbor. Help me to also understand their burden, in Jesus name.
Good morning all and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
