*Scripture Commentaries.*
Jesus wept.
Jesus wept over the tomb of Lazarus, who had died for four days and had been stinking.
Tears move others to tears. Both Mary and Martha were weeping, the Jews present were weeping, Jesus groaned and in His painful groan, betrayed emotions, and wept!
It tells us it is acceptable to mourn with people. Weeping is a symbol of love and affection to the lost, the bereaved and and the family. At bereavement, it is not a time to try to please or pacify anyone with jokes or laughter or even encourage people not to weep. Someone is gone never to be seen again, until resurrection morning, God permit.
We must weep over how sin has inflicted sorrow into our lives and how sickness and other terminal agents of death have robbed lives untimely.
This was why Jesus wept.
Everyone born of man must experience sorrow, John 14:1. It is only by God’s mercy that we will not mourn over our children and younger ones, in Jesus name.
If you remember how Jesus wept, you will love Jesus and give Him joy as His child.
It is for your good. For you to avoid the agony and tragedy of this world, you need to know Him and ask Him to avoid and be saved from life's woes.
Though life's sorrow is not an indication of a life without God (ref Job 1:13-22), we must know that in order to avoid life's tragedies, being deeply rooted in Christ is key.
You must live to know why Christ wept, avoid why He should not weep any further, and ensure He does not weep over you!
We must not cause Him further sorrow. It was because of our sins that He came and was known as a man of sorrow.
He is now glorified, and the only thing we must always look forward to is to make Him rejoice.
Will you make Jesus rejoice?
