*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*THE UNASSUMING CHALLENGER.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

1 Samuel 17:29 *And David said, "What have I now done?" Is there not a cause?*

*Insight and Highlight.*

David, from being an unassuming challenger, became an assured victor.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

David was an unassuming boy who became a challenger and ultimate victor.

Unassuming, because he never expected he would find himself as one to face Goliath.

His anger at Goliath's insult at God prompted him to ask what shall be done to the person who takes Goliath's reproach away from Israel, 1 Sam 17:26.

His elder brother, Eliab, accused and asked him , *"....Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness?...* 1 Sam 17:28.

He was even least expected by others because, according to his brothers He was to be at the tending of the sheep.

He was, however, very bold. He told Saul, *....Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.*, 1 Sam 17:32.

King Saul doubted David, saying David could not fight Goliath because he is *"...a youth,..."* and that Goliath is *...a man of war from his youth."*, 1 Sam 17:33.

There are dangers that appear real yet unreal, if approached with all determination, enthusiasm, and fervor, using all spiritual weapons available to us through the Spirit.

We can never be intimidated by enemy threats if we are intimately connected with God.

We see this confidence in David's word to Saul. He said, *The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine....."*, 1 Sam 17:34-37.

From this statement, it is clear that David was more driven by his passion for God than any other thing.

It is more than saying we are on God's side, but it is more important that God is on our side.

When God is with you, there are unseen hosts of Heaven with you!

When we are faced with life's danger, always remember that the enemy is *"...only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles.”,* 2 Chro 32:8.

You may be an unassuming challenger, but you will ultimately be an assured victor!

*Remorse corner.*

You may appear unassuming or unlikely to win the battle against a strong enemy, but if you are driven by a vision for God, you are a majority.

*Call to Word action.*

2 Kings 6:16 *And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Romans 8:31 *What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?*

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me. Let my victory against the enemy be assured in Christ Jesus, in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
