THE SAD END OF A GOOD KING

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*THE SAD END OF A GOOD KING.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

2 Chron 26: 3, 21--► *"Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign,..... And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Job 9:4--► *God is wise in heart and mighty in strength. Who has resisted Him and prospered?*

*Scripture Commentaries.*

It is important we update and be well informed. Many kings of Israel failed because of lack of knowledge or deliberate defiance of knowledge.

Uzziah, a young man, God seeker, innovative, a giant killer and a great restorer fell to disobedience.

He assumed that he could be a king and a priest at the same time by burning incense in the temple, which was the job of the priest and not the king.

Many kings like Uzziah failed to learn from other kings' failures. It is in the book of Chronicles and Kings, but many of them may not have read this.

King Uzziah had no excuse. He had Zechariah the Prophet. He prospered as long as he sought the LORD under Zechariah, but what did he do with the knowledge?

Nothing or at least it is apparent in the scriptures thst that he did not run with it to the end.

Uzziah came into the temple. He started well but became an arrogant king, as a result he left as a humbled leper.

*Remorse corner.*

He was warned but he took it personal. 2 Chro 26:18--► *And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the Lord, but to the priests the sons of Aaron,...."*

*Call to Word action.*

King Uzziah died with leprosy and was banned from the temple of the LORD.

Prov 29:1--► *He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

He remained a leper and in his last days he died in an isolated house.

He *"dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the Lord..."* 2 Chro 26:20-23.

*Prayer.*

May l not resist God, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
