THE POWER OF KNOWLEDGE (3)
*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*THE POWER OF KNOWLEDGE (3).*
*Scripture Treasure.*
2 Timothy 1:13 *Hold on to the pattern of sound teaching you have heard from me, with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Titus 1:9 *He must hold firmly to the faithful word as it was taught so that he can encourage others by sound teaching and refute those who contradict it.*
*Scripture Commentaries.*
As much as knowledge is good and wisdom is the principal thing, we must be careful not to get them the world's way.
1 Cori 3:19 says, *"For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.*
Sound teaching through God's word is the standard by which all information and knowledge received must be compared.
There are many too good to be true information.
They appear good, but the power of God is denied.
There are messages and preachers who
*"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away*, 2 Tim 3:5
Paul warns us seriously.
Many in the quest of finding deliverance from Satan end us being delivered into Satan’s hands.
Your foundation and exposure to sound biblical preaching will ultimately determine your strength to resist any ungospel teachings.
It helps you to avoid being tossed to and fro, Eph 4:14.
Whom you follow may determine who you become. God eagerly works through a mentor to determine the qualifications of a mentee.
It is important that we are identifiable with Godly mentors under whom we have been mentees.
It is good and helpful if we know whom you are traceable to.
A good biblical, God-fearing training is the bedrock of a well-informed child of God.
It is important that for every Joshua, there was a Moses.
Elisha carefully followed the steps of Elijah, observing both the authority and spiritual tutelage he had received, and it worked for him. 2 Kgs 2:14 *Then he took the cloak that had fallen from him and struck the water with it. Where now is the LORD, the God of Elijah?"*
The sons of the prophets clearly saw the spirit of Elijah resting on him, 2 Kgs 2:15.
Paul reminded Timothy of what he had received as a solid background,
2 Tim 3:15 *And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.*
Do not jump at everything in the name of
*".....here is Christ, or there;..."*. Jesus said ,".... believe it not"*, Matt 24:23.
Titus admonished that you *"....rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;"*
There is power in information received through learning. 2 Tim 2:15 *Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.*
Remember the word of God you have received.
Develop yourself spiritually.
Read, study, and meditate on God's word.
It is your guide against any wrongly motivated, persuasive teaching.
Be careful. These are perilous times.
*Remorse corner.*
Submit yourself. Be under authority. God is watching you.
*Call to Word action.*
1 Thess 2:13 *For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Col 3:16 *Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.*
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to discern. Let me not fall prey to false teachers and teaching.
Let the word of God dwell richly in me, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
