Perhaps an illustration that gives solace to those who are not rich is Prov 19: 22.
Solomon tells us that poverty is the extreme and worse situation anyone could find himself, yet the poor man is better than a liar, though the liar is rich.
Being poor should not motivate you to lie.
Also, while a poor man may not go to hell, a liar definitely would.
Though life's poverty is not a determinant of heaven or hell, to lie is an indicator of your eternal destination of hell, 1 Cor 6:9-11, Rev 21: 9.
If you are poor but lie not, you are Heaven bound, but if you are poor and a liar, it is double tragedy!
Why would you be poor here on earth and miss Heaven for lying to be who you are not or about what you do not have? Why must you suffer twice?
Remember *"......Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.* Luke 12:15.
Not having enough is not a motivation to lie that you have more than enough.
In fact, there is nothing in life that should persuade us to give life any of its demands or submit to its pressure and die for it or die because of the challenges it presents to us.
Life does not deserve that we lose our precious lives to it.
Life has not given you life, Jesus has given it to you, John 10:10b
This verse does not encourage poverty, but it is better interpreted that those who are poor have no reason to lie but to be content with where they find themselves.
It is better to remain as you are than to pretend to be what you are not.
People fake lives and represent themselves as rich, yet they are in abject poverty.
Contentment is a real virtue of a poor person who refuses to lie.
Solomon is saying it is better you be poor than cause many sorrows of deception to innocent people who have been deceived to take your lies as truth because they trusted you.
Solomon is saying a poor man desires kindness from God for his truth. He chooses to be right with God, though he is ridiculed by men for his truth.
Do not lie!

Lord, help me to remain truthful, in Jesus name.
Good morning, and have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
