*Scripture Treasure.*

Jer 18:4 *And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

God not only informs us through His word, He transforms us too.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

God made us perfect, but sin brought imperfection.

To restore mankind, God expressed Himself as a master handicraftman whose aim is to work out outstanding skills of workmanship with the ultimate aim of producing a masterpiece.

While God, the master handicraftman, was working to achieve excellence, He experiences defective clay (humans).

To illustrate this, He took Jeremiah to a porters house.

Our reluctance to be what God wants us to be is expressed in Jer 18:4 that when the porter (God) saw that what *".....he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over*(NLT).

God has found Himself having to start all over again with mankind.

By our impatience, we have often irritated God. Numb 14:22, God said the Israelites have *".... tempted me now these ten times...'*. The *'...ten times...'* reffered here may be interpreted as countless times'.

We are like the Israelites.

If we could cooperate with God, we can be His masterpiece of excellence.

He has made us good, but we have made ourselves bad. When we turn away from Him, we become very bad.

So He becomes like the porter doing all it takes to transform us, and He does this until we are restored to our original state at creation (the master's piece of excellence): masterpiece.

Everyone can find solace that at the end of our badness, God has the final say in Jesus Christ.

John implies that those whom the porter (God) restores are the sons of God, and they know they shall be like Him when they see Him as He is, 1 John 3:2

As God has His final say in Jesus, anyone who surrenders to Him would be said to be made into *"....another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it."* Jer 18:4b.

*Remorse corner.*

You can know you are God's masterpiece when you trust and obey Him.

*Call to Word action.*

You can become Christ's masterpiece, a showpiece that is an outstanding expression and example of the Person of Christ

Acts 4:13 *'....Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John,......they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

You are God's masterpiece when you become what He has made you to be.

Lord, make me Your masterpiece, and let me be an example of the Person of Christ, in Jesus name.

Good morning all, welcome to the month of September, our month of *THE LORD’S MASTERPIECE.*

God bless you.
