*THE GREAT MISTAKE (2)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Philippians 1:18 (NIV) *But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice,*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Misinterpreting the scriptures is one of the great mistakes and delusions of our time and all time.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Besides faulty preachers preaching with strife and envy, Paul identifies

two things further.

First, the motives of preachers of strife and envy. This is that they have reasons why they preach to make worse other people's afflictions.

One of their motives is to promote their own ends, so preach under the pretense of preaching Christ.

Paul, by his words in Phillpns 1:15,

assured us that the motives (of envy and strife) of the preachers may not be good, but the result is good.

The result is good because he said in Phillpns 1: 12, that everything that has happened to him had helped to spread the gospel and is widely known by those who preached in goodwill and those who preached under the pretense of preaching Christ.

For the widespread of the gospel,

Paul rejoices in the good that God brings out of evil.

He rejoiced that good is produced from an evil intent of his adversaries.

He rejoiced, according to the words of Joseph in Gen 50:20 *But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.*

Second, bad motives breed false interpretations.

Today, one of the greatest delusions of our time is the false interpretation of Phillipians 1:18, where Paul tells us that the important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached.

Misinterpreting the scriptures is the source of false belief about divine and scriptural sanctified reality.

When false interpretation of scriptures is present, people are misguided.

The word of God is no more rightly divided but wrongly divided, ref 2 Tim 2:15.

A preacher who preaches heresy or jokes to mock God will quote this verse of the scriptures!

There are many today who could have believed the truth, but due to false interpretation of God's word, they are emboldened by misconception, figments of imaginations, and lies.

These deception and delusion have become a lifestyle that is expressed with great wit.

They use these false interpretations of the gospel in a quick and inventive way to create lifestyles of deception after *".....the traditions of men"*, Col 2:8

Some of their listeners started out believing and ended up thrown into the great mistakes of their lives to ceaselessly believe they were right.

Mistaken beliefs have turned into intentional disbelief.

The misconstruction of the scriptures is a great dilemma. The devil uses his agents to cause these terrible delusions.

Social media has been the major strength of these great delusions.

Often, these defective ministers of great influence use their clout to master and make subordinates of gullible people.

We must know that Paul will never authorize any form of sin, Rom 6:1, 16, selfish ambitions, Philpn 1:17, jealousy and rivalry, Philpn 1:8. Heresy, false doctrines, or any form of deception.

He cursed heretics, referring to them as preaching “another gospel”. As he stated in Galatians 1:9: Paul can not preach against himself and the Holy Spirit.

We must be aware that there are people who misinterpret the gospel to advance their selfish ambitions. They preach or jest against Christ to provoke many followers.

You must know the truth, John 8:32!

If you do not believe the truth, you will believe a lie, 2 Thess 2:11-12:

*And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:*

*That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.*

Why would you be damned by God when He has revealed the truth that will make you free?

Why should you go to hell when the truth is available for you to know?

Becareful and beware of the great mistakes of delusions!

*Remorse corner.*

Why would Paul write that *".....in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached?"

It was not to endorse falsehood but to prepare us that when God's word is preached, false motives are present!

*Call to Word action.*

Paul can not preach against himself.

False motives and pretenses are forms of distractions from the true gospel. They are forms of *"...another gospel....."*,Gal 1:8-9.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Set and brace yourself to defend the gospel of Christ, come what may!

*But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.*

*What, then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.* Philpns 1:17-18.

*Prayer.*

Lord, let me not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ.

*"According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.*, in Jesus name. (Philpns 1:20).

Good morning, all, and be blessed as you go today.

God bless you.
