*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*THE FIRE MUST NOT DIE! (6)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Heb 1:7 *And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

The flame of fire in Angels and Ministers of God is our invisible, powerful, and swift nature of which we are equipped as we carry out God's services

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Perhaps one the most direct verses that speak of what a believer is, in the midst of an ailing world and his destructive power over Satan is Heb 1:7 which refers to his equipping with the Spirit's fire.

The *".....flame of fire..."* in ministers represents their fervent zeal.

It represents their fearsome and feary power and their ability to destroy oppositions.

It represents their purification. He is refined by fire and chosen *"......in the furnace ...."* of affliction, Isaiah 48:10.

John said that though he came to baptize by water, Jesus came with baptism of the Holy Spirit and a baptism of fire, Matt 3:11, Luke 3:16.

Though Heb 1:7 tells of Jesus' supremacy over angels, it is also applicable to ministers of God as they carry out God's service.

The fire in them is the fire of the Holy Spirit which is also a symbol of Him as vessels through whom God executes by destructive forces in divine judgment.

As angels carry out their services as powerful ministers of God so also are humans who are His ministers equipped with such ferocious power.

Gen 19 tells of of the appearance of two angels of God over Sodom to warn about its destruction and how the Lord subsequently rained brimstone and fire over Sodom, Gen 19:13,15, 24.

Gen 19 is one of many instances when the bible describes the angel of the Lord as the Lord and God (Gen 16:13, 22:11-12, 32:28-30)

Elijah carried a fiery personality and was most visible in his time with the destructive power of fire, 1 Kgs 18:38, 2 Kgs 1:10-12.

The sons of thunder (a nickname Jesus gave to James and John) asked Jesus if they could command fire to come down from heaven and consume to consume a Samaritan village that was hostile to Jesus Luke 9:54.

Are you a custodian of His fire?

Can He trust you with His fire?

*Remorse corner.*

Fire symbolizes the fiery spirit in ministers of God.

*Call to Word action.*

While fire is a powerful force of warfare and destruction, Jesus preaches caution by internalizing His teachings in all ministers as a precaution to its use, Lk 9:54.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

We are to always save by fire, not to always destroy by fire.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to be a minister of flame of fire, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.

Shalom.
