*WISDOM FOR TODAY*

*THE DIE-HARD CHRISTIAN.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Rev 12:11:

*And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto death.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

A die-hard Christian is an overcomer.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

An overcomer is someone who is determined to the end.

Unlike people who forsake, dump, go back on Jesus, an overcomer will not give up their belief and trust in Jesus. They find it difficult to break away.

They are like the maxim or saying that goes "old habits die hard".

They are like soldiers who have the military spirit of fighting fiercely even in defeat.

They fight dying, they fight to death.

They are resilient in defeat

They are stubbornly faithful.

Paul says in Phil 1:21 *For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.*

Paul says in Galatians 2:20 *I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.*

They show a willingness to die for their faith rather than renounce it,

As believers they signify their defeat over their spiritual enemies (like Satan) through faith in Jesus Christ's sacrificial death (the Lamb's blood) and by sharing their personal stories of salvation (their testimony).

Remembering that God who has done it before or to people in old times, will do it again. David reminded himself of how God delivered him from the bear.

1 Sam 17:37 *David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.*

The overcomer is a person who vigorously maintains or defends a seemingly hopeless position: Shadrach Meshach and Abednego said even if God would not deliver them they would still not bow to serve nor worship Nebudchanezzar's golden image, Dan 3:16-17.

An overcomer would continue to serve Christ, come to Church in spite of opposition.

Acts 8:1-4 says though Christians were scattered by Saul, they still went everywhere preaching.

*And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.*

*And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.*

*As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.*

*Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.*

The ultimate target of the overcomer is to ensure he overcomes

Paul writes in 2 Cor 4:8-9

*We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;*

*Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;*

Overcomers refuse and resist any form of distractions.

Paul further writes in Phillipian 3:12-16

*Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.*

*Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.*

*I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.*

*Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.*

*Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.*

Paul was an overcomer. He overcame. He finished well in spite of the difficulties he faced.

2 Tim 4:7  *I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:*

This year, make up your mind.

The Christian has not succeeded until he has finished the race successfully.

*Remorse corner.*

The problem may be making it to the end but the solution is making it to the end.

You do not overcome until you overcome to the very end.

*Call to Word action.*

The problem may be overcoming your challenges but the solution is overcoming them.

Matt 24:13

*But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

2 Tim 4: 5 *But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, ...."*

*Prayer.*

Lord help me to overcome Satan and this world as Christ overcame in Jesus name.

Good morning and a Happy New Year 2026.

It is our year of *THE OVERCOMERS.*

This year, we will overcome in Jesus name.

God bless you.

Shalom.
