*THE CREATIVE POWER OF GOD (5).*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Exd 1417-18 *And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.*

*And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Those who doubt God's creative power will

will be proved wrong by God.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Those who follow God's plan for their lives are assured of God's mercy, Rom 9:18.

We continue with the second reason that illustrates the creative power of God.

This is that: there are people He creates for destruction.

Rom 9:21 tells us that the God ( the porter) has the power to make us (the clay) *".....of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour...*

While this is not God's perfect will for any of His creation to make them unto dishonour, there are people whom their lives are better destroyed for the righteous to live.

Psalm 136 teaches us that God will destroy His people's enemies out of His mercy for His people.

Psalm 136: 10-16 reminds us of the retributive power of God. It reflects God's creative power in retribution and vengeance.

Psalm 136:17-21 tell us how God slew some kings and gave their lands to His people out of the mercy He had for His people.

The Red Sea through which the Israelites walked on dry ground was the sea that swallowed the Egyptians.

The strong east wind that blew all night *".....made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided."*

The *"......pillar of the cloud...."* that went from before the Israelites *".....stood behind them:..."*

They became *".......a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night."* Exd 14:16, 19-21.

All these were creative power of God. They worked for the Israelites but were against the Egyptians.

God can choose the same creative power to bless some while the same power will destroy others!

While God showed the Israelites mercy, He destroyed the Egyptians out of His mercies for the Israelites.

*Call to Word action.*

God's power that empowers can disarm others.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

God is not like humans. We are the ones who turned His powers against ourselves.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me not to turn Your power against myself, in Jesus name.
