*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*THE CREATIVE POWER OF GOD.(2)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Rom 9: 21 *Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Only God has the power to create.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Rom 9:21 opens our eyes to what appears unbelievable to us but true about God's choice of distinctive creative power.

2 Tim 2: 20 says *But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.*

Let us look at some reasons why God exercises His distinctive creative power.

Firstly, God is sovereign. He is supreme. He does and creates as He pleases, Psa 115:3, 135:6.

Secondly, there are people created for destruction.

Thirdly, why would God create some people for honour while some are unto dishonour.

Let us look at the first today.

One of many best illustrations of God's supremacy and sovereignty is in Jeremiah

18:6 which says *Behold, like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.*

Isaiah 64:8 says, *But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.*

He determines who we are and who we would be, Gen 1:27.

Acts 17:28 *For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.*

This helps us to deepen our knowledge of God's systemic way of creation of whatever He chooses to do at creation.

God, as the creator, has the right to make different vessels for various purposes.

As much as God creates He can alter creation. He can make to live longer or shorten lives

Deut 32:39 says *See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.*

1 Sam 2:6 says *The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.*

He decided not to take Hezekiah's life as He had said (Isaiah 38:1) but added fifteen more years to his life, Isaiah 38:5.

He shortened Eli's sons lives and said unto Eli *And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them.* 1 Sam 2:34.

God (the porter) set out to mould the clay (the human), Jer 18:6, but the clay did not cooperate with the porter, Jer 18:4.

*Remorse corner.*

We must know that it was God's will to create an equal and equitable life. Sin changed creation to inequality and inequitable life.

*Call to Word action.*

Psalm 139:14 *I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Be grateful of how God has created you.

*Prayer.*

Lord, l thank You for creating me. Make me a vessel unto honour in Jesus name.

Good morning all and a *HAPPY THANKSGIVING*

Be blessed as you go today.

God bless you.

Shalom.
