*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*TELL IT NOT IN GATH, PUBLISH IT NOT IN.... ASKELON.(2)*
*Scripture Treasure.*
2 Sam 1:11-12, 27 *Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him:*
*And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the Lord, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword.*
*How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!*
*Insight and Highlight.*
John 11:35-36 *Jesus wept.*
*Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him.*
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Jesus's emotion and how the Jews described it as a heartfelt indication of how much Jesus loved Lazarus is the best way to describe David's emotions when he was informed of Saul's death.
Jesus' tears were sincere and heartwarming, and so were David's.
The prophet Micah says if you rejoice over anyone's fall, you are nothing but an enemy.
Micah 7:8 *Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.*
We all try to be righteous but are quickly judgmental when it comes to assessing fellow fallen Christians.
We are like the Pharisees in the days of Jesus whom Jesus condemned as hypocrites, Mathew 23, 24, Luke 11, 12.
There are enemies of a living, dying, and dead man. Worse, however, are enemies who pretend as friends, they eat together, and they go to the house of God together, Psalm 55:13-14.
If you passionately hated a living man to his eventual death. there is no need to attend his/her burial.
Your hatred might have caused his death. In fact, if you had the opportunity to kill him/her as David had, you would have killed.
Some who have died untimely may not have died if we did what we ought to have done to salvage him/her.
How much do you love your brother/sister? Do not be like those who say, "Though you were enemies in his/her lifetime, but in death, you must honor."
Your honor is not necessary.
The dead is gone. When he/she needed you, you were not there. you may have even made life more miserable or may have even caused his/her death.
Solomon says the dead know nothing, Eccl 9:5, and destinies are not reversible at death, Luke 16: 19-35.
Love that brother or sister while he/she lives now!
*Remorse corner.*
If you rejoice over your brother/sister's fall, you are not a Christian but an enemy.
*Call to Word action.*
If you hated him/her while alive but now lament over his/her death, you are a hypocrite under a curse, Job 15:34.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
David was real and loving to Saul in life. His honor to Saul was honorable.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to bring joy and add value to people's lives while they live, in Jesus name.
Good morning all and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
