*Insight and Highlight.*

It is important for the soul of a person to prosper. When the mind, emotion, intellect, and heart that all represent the soul of a person prosper, the person will proper, 3 John 2.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Of the three components of humans' triunity, the spirit, body, and soul, 1 Thess 5:23, the body is the only physical and material element.

The union of these three makes the human.

We have looked at the obligations expected of us as regards taking care of the body

Today, we will look at taking care of the soul.

The soul may be described as a nonmaterial component of the human triune attribute.

This is because it represents our seat of emotions, mind, and intellect.

The soul is another word for 'person'.

In Lev 4:2, God refers to a person who sins as a soul. Prov 11:30 refers to a person who is won for the Lord as a soul.

There are two aspects of the soul that are very important to the discourse of the soul.

First, when the soul is described as a person, it dies. For example, Ezk 18:20.

Matt 16:26 says there is no eternal profit to a man who covets greed and amasses wealth in this world. When he dies, he will lose it to hell.

So when the soul is used in conjuction with the person, we say he has died or a soul is lost.

Second, when the soul is described beyond the human being as a person and is described as the nonmaterial components of the emotions, conscience, intellect and reasoning of a person, these soul component along with the spirit are indestructible and survive death to either live in Heaven, Rev 6:9; 20:4 or in Hell, Ps 16:10; Matt 16:26.

At death, it is taken away and separated from the body. It is *"......away from the body and at home with the Lord”* 2 Cor 5:6-8; Philpns 1:23.

At this point, the soul as a person dies, but as a nonmaterial component of the soul that represents the mind, intellect, seat of emotions, will, conscience, and reasoning attribute of the human, is translated and remains indestructible because it is home to be with the Lord or to be in hell.

The heart is also a part of the soul. It, along with conscience convicts of right or wrong and truth or falsehood, ref Acts 23:1, Rom 9:1.

It is important that we take good care of our state of mind, intellect, our hearts, and what goes on in it.

Jesus teaches us that

Matthew 15:11 *Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.*

Matt 15:19-20a *For out of the heart, proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:*

*These are the things which defile a man:......"*

Prov 4:23 *Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.*

Jer 17:9 *The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?*

The more of God you allow in your thoughts, the less or none of it that Satan will influence.

Remember, though, Satan will not be able to occupy your heart he can torment or trouble it, but with the presence of the Spirit of God in you, you can be sure of overcoming him.

Satan can not possess a born again child of God, but he can trouble it with life's challenges.

We live in a sinful world, so we are all exposed to evil thoughts that may rear up their ugly heads, but you can resist the devil and his evil thoughts, Jam 4:7.

You can resist temptation, Matt 4; Lk 4; 1 Cor 10:13.

As the soul and the spirit will be united with the glorious body of the believer to be with the Lord for ever so will the soul and spirit of the unbeliever be united with the body of the unbeliever to live in hell.

Where will your soul go when death comes? Is it to be with the Lord?

*Remorse corner.*

The word of God in your soul is the only security and protection against Satan and his agents.

*Call to Word action.*

Ps 119:11 *Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Do not lose your soul to hell!

*Prayer.*

Lord, do not allow Satan to control my mind in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
