*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*SPIRITUAL CHILDREN (4)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Matt 10:39 *He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

The spiritual man would let go of what he could not keep. He will keep what he can not lose.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

The spiritual man is wise. He knows there are things, though he owns, but can not keep. For example, money and life are two of many perfect examples

Prov 23:5 tells us that money can be gone in a flash.

*Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? For riches certainly build themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward the heavens.*

Life is another example of what we have, but we can not keep.

Matt 10:39 refers to life as if we own it, but tells us when we find and live it outside God, we will lose it. People can either lose it untimely Eccl 7:17,

or God can take it away, Luke 12:20.

The natural man is different. He keeps what he knows he can lose.

The rich man kept what he would lose. Jesus said he was rich but foolish.

So, the natural man can have all he needs yet be foolish if he keeps what he knows he can lose.

The spiritual man can have all he

needs because he does not keep what he knows he would lose, both here and eternally with God, Mark 10: 30-32

The natural man would not care, come what may.

The spiritual man cares. He would let go of what he could not keep. He will not try to keep what he will lose.

The natural children departed while the spiritual children remained, and they grew as Jesus grew John 6: 65-68.

Today, the likes of Peter, Matthew, James, and John grew, and their names are forever remembered.

The disciples who finished well with Jesus were not only serving Jesus, but they saw what others did not see.

Others may have served Jesus, but their trust in Jesus depended on what Jesus would do to favor them. Immediately, they saw that Jesus would not do what they wanted or expected, they denied, dishonored, and left Him.

When Jesus had taught the disciples

many said *"This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”*, John 6:60.

The teaching was not what they wanted to hear, so they left Him, John 6:63-66.

The natural man's focus is what he hopes to get.

The spiritual man's focus is beyond what he hopes to get or gain.

He stays with God beyond what he has gained. He knows he can not lose with God, and everything he loses is counted as gain because he knows God can not lose.

Whether he gains or loses, he knows he will gain what he had lost and more than he has lost.

Whatever a man gains for himself outside Christ is a loss to the Kingdom of God.

Paul says that whatever physical pursuit he achieves while the Kingdom is deprived is a loss

In Philpn 3:7, he writes *But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.*

Any earthly achievement to him meant nothing so that he *"....may win Christ.*,

He gave us what will eventually become vanity to gain what is eternal in Christ Jesus.

Is what is gain to you a gain for Christ?

*Remorse corner.*

The spiritual man will let go of what he can not keep so that he may keep what he can not lose,

*Call to Word action.*

Phillipians 3: 8 *Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

The natural man can not please God. He will please his desires rather than please Him. Neither his resources nor himself is made available for God to use, Rom 5:8.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to let go of what l can not keep so that l may be able to keep what l can not lose, in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day.

God bless you
