*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*SPIRITUAL CHILDREN (3)*
*Scripture Treasure.*
John 6:65-68 *And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.*
*From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.*
*Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?*
*Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Spiritual children are encouraging.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Peter, here, shows one of the greatest qualities of spiritual children.
They encourage themselves, 1 Sam 30:6. They encourage others (ref Lk 20:22). They encourage their masters/leaders when their masters are at their lowest ebb, John 6:65-68.
You can not encourage others if you can not encourage yourself.
Jesus here faces one of the toughest challenges facing a leader.
Jesus was a great leader, yet Judas failed. He was a great leader, and people dishonored Him, Mk 6:4.
People departed Him, *".....and walked no more with him.*
Spiritual children do not pull out they pull themselves and others together. They cover the nakedness that would arise if they are unable to help by making themselves available.
Peter's decision to remain with Jesus was a turning point.
Peter could have separated, but he stayed to lead the greatest revival of all time, Acts 2:41
The number grew to five thousand in Acts 4:4 *Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.*
2 Tim 2:12 *if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us;*
Spiritual children endure.
Can you endure as Peter and the early Church apostles did?
*Remorse corner.*
Spiritual children are not like natural children. They salvage. They do not savage.
*Call to Word action.*
While some of the disciples who heard the same word departed from Jesus, Peter told Jesus, *"....Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.*
*The Christian clarion duty. .*
On the day of Pentecost, Peter harvested three thousand souls, Acts 2:41. He suffered with Jesus. He became one of the heirs of the Kingdom.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to endure/suffer with You so that l may reign with You, in Jesus name. (2 Tim 2:12)
Good morning, all, and be blessed as you come into His presence.
God bless you.
