*WISDOM FOR TODAY*
*...SO WHAT IS RIGHT?*
*ScriptureTreasure.*
Prov 14:12 *There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
There is grave danger in doing what seems right. Therefore, do what is right!
*Scripture Commentaries.*
It always seem right to embrace a culture and beliefs of some people in order not to make them feel maligned or distanced.
It always seems right to drum support for some people's beliefs because they are small in numbers or may be to us underprivileged or societal disadvantaged.
While it is good to be good and affectionate pursuing other people's interests, it may be helpful to look at the bigger picture, most especially God's standard of what is right.
Many things that seemed right but not right have caused many havoc and fatalities in our world of today.
For example, retaliations and wars have always been actions that seem right to take in order to avert or stop oppression. However, a rightful and initial approach for peace through dialogue approach by both parties may have prevented endless wars, famine, international outcry, scores of war casualties, and death.
Saul, doing what is right could have prevented him from doing what seemed right to him, 1 Sam 15.
Right is defined as anything morally good and acceptable.
Right is right, and nothing seems to change this truth.
Solomon tells us that 'Right' is absolute because it is right, not when it seemed right.
It does not need anything to determine its truth. It is not relative. It is either a thing is right or it is wrong, true or it is false.
In other words, simply because something appears or seems like it is good or the truth does not make it good or true.
Right is distinctive. You do not need any qualification to make it what it is.
Looking at Solomon's word, life is transient, lasting for a short time. This has caused so much impatience, making us make hasty and deadly decisions.
Based on the aforesaid, the following statements are right and true.
First, just because a way seems right does not make it right. Just because something looks right does not make it right.
Second, right does not need a popular vote to make it right. What is right does not have to be popular to make it right.
Third, just because everyone does something does not make it right.
Fourth, just because something is right legally does not make it right.
To sum it all, what is right is good, is righteousness, moral, just, and equitable judging by God's standard.
God remains the standard by which right is judged. Psalm 145:17 *The LORD is righteous in all his ways, And holy in all his works.*
It is this world and the life we live that tries to cause a momentary variation in what is referred to as right.
Right is permanent and unchangeable, and it is Godly to do what is right.
To do what seems right is a deception and a deviation from doing what is right. Being close to what is right does not make you right.
Remember, it is either you are right or wrong.
It is not your right to do what seems right, but to do what is right.
Do what is right, not what seems right!
*Remorse corner.*
To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice, 1 Sam 15: 15, 22.
*Call to Word action.*
Proverbs 21:3 (NIV) *To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
What is right is that which is right before God.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to do what is right, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
