SITTING ON A GOLDMINE

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*SITTING ON A GOLDMINE.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Matthew 13:44 *The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

When you find *"....a treasure hidden in a field..."*, you are sitting on a goldmine!

Proverbs 23:23 *Invest in truth and never sell it--in wisdom and instruction and understanding.*

*Scripture Commentaries.*

The parable of the hidden treasure tells us how highly we ought to place Kingdom privileges and assignments.

God is sovereign but He is not "common". He is good to all but He pays special attention to those who fear Him.

When you found Him or He is found of you, you have found a treasure.

The parable illustrates that a man found treasure in a field, he immediately knew the value, was filled with joy, went and sold all he had to buy that field.

This is what God expects of us.

The parable can be further illustrated thus: the man hid the treasure in his heart, made up his mind to do away with everything that may hinder him, he gave them all up, then came back to possess the Kingdom for God and forever be in His presence.

Jesus says *"......When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.*, Matt 13:44.

Jesus gave this parable because many in the Kingdom may not know they are in it to possess and have access to priviledges that will yield great rewards both in this world and in eternity, ref Mark 10:30.

Rather than invest in it, many invest elsewhere, *".....where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:,* Matt 6:19-20

They end up losing out because they do not see any forseeable profit in the Kingdom since they are yet to receive their much awaited expectation now and they conclude it is not profitable to be in the Kingdom.

Many will not know they are sitting on a gold mine until they have lost Kingdom privileges or someone else takes their places, 1 Sam 2:30, 35, 1 Sam 15:11, 28.

You are sitting on a Kingdom goldmine, if only you realize God is there.

You may say you know God is there but do you know God enough to give up all you have in sacrifice and submission to Kingdom treasure?

It may appear nothing is forthcoming to you right now but be assured the Kingdom is worth its salt.

There is a return on investment in the Kingdom. God rewards, Heb 11:6.

Things may appear gloomy right now but be assured, you cannot lose with God.

When you find *"....a treasure hidden in a field..."*, you are sitting on a goldmine!

May you do the needful in order to hide it, sell all you have to buy the field.

*Remorse corner*

The man found the treasure, he immediately knew the value and was filled with joy.

*Call to Word action*

Prov 2: 3-5  *Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;*

*If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;*

*Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Nothing in life is worth anything when we compare it to God’s kingdom.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to invest in your Kingdom.

Let me not lay my treasure *"....where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:"* in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
