*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*SINNER TURNED SAINT (8)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Rom 8:3-4 *For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:*

*That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Matt 5:17 *Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

There are a lot of things the law can not do or achieve. Though it hopes to achieve peaceful coexistence, it has only been prohibitive but not transformative.

The law may forbid murder but it has not stopped people killing other people, etc.

God identifies that as long as the heart is desperately wicked, people will remain wicked to others regardless of the stiff penalties for their crimes.

While the law is retributive, God's law is retributive, and through His Spirit, it is rehabilitative and transformative.

Every man made law stems from the Ten Commandments.

When the law is retributive, it punishes offenders, but while it tries to rehabilitate (through training and therapy), it finds it difficult to transform (achieve a dramatic and meaningful change of the offender), giving room for more sinister serial or repeated offenders.

We must know that if we live unrighteous lives, we will pay dearly for it. Why suffer here on earth and suffer in eternity?

The essence of imprisonment is for punishment and reform. We must never live to frustrate the policy of law and order.

Since the law can not do anything more to change the unrighteous, God brought the Spirit through Jesus.

Paul says it is only through this that

*....the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us...* (Rom 8:3). ln other words, Paul was saying that it is only through accepting the Spirit that the law can be effective or achieve a change in our lives.

Accepting and receiving the Spirit is the only way a sinner can turn saint. This is the only assurance to eternal rest and life with Jesus.

Obedience and total submission are key.

No prayers after your death will give you eternal rest you did not ask for in your lifetime through accepting Jesus into your life now that you live.

No sermon, eulogy, tribute, your nicely engraved tombstone, expensive grave

mausoleum, crying, and weeping of those you helped will guarantee your eternal rest. If you miss Jesus while you live now, you have missed everything Heavenly.

Rest in perfect peace, rest in the bossom of the Lord, prayer that the Lord will accept your repose are just elegant appraisal to a soul that is now destined to perish in hell because he/she did not know Jesus while he/she was alive.

You must learn now and fast to know that no one will ever wish that you do not rest in peace but whether or not they wished you, it is better your repose is accepted by Heaven just because you died in Christ!

Are you willing to turn from sinner to saint now?

Remember, destinies are irreversible at death. Lazarus died and was carried into the bossom of Abraham. The richman died and was in torment in the flame. He asked if Lazarus could be asked to *"....dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool...."* his tongue.

He was told that between him and those with Lazarus, *"....there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.*

The richman could not be moved to where Lazarus was. His destiny and destination in hell were irreversible because he was now dead.

(Read Luke 16:19-31).

The same goes for everyone who dies! It is either Heaven or Hell. No midway or middle point. There is no limbo or purgatory!

Next minute or tomorrow may be too late, 2 Cor 6:2.

It is better that you accept Jesus now!

*Remorse corner.*

At death, your eternal destiny can no longer be reversed. You must have died in salvation or have died without salvation. Your eternal home destination to either Heaven or hell is affirmative.

*Call to Word action.*

Only the dead in Christ will go with the Lord. 1 Thess 4:16-17

*For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:*

*Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Remain a sinner turned saint to the end. Live every day as if it were your last.

*Prayer.*

Lord help me every day and *".....continue to work out....."* my *".....salvation with fear and trembling,.."*(Philp 2:12), in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
