SIN IN THE EYES OF GOD (3)

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.* *SIN, IN THE EYES OF GOD. (3)* *Scripture Treasure.* 2 Kgs 1:16 --► *And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.* *Insight and Highlight.* Exodus 4:22--► *And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:* *Scripture Commentaries.* God is Sovereign. The Apostle Paul, admonishing the Athens said in Acts 17: 28  *For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.* It is evil in the eyes of God, when we go after other gods. An idol in our hearts will make us seek after other gods. The most potent test of a life that deviates from God is a heart that consistently leans on his own understanding. No other way but his. No counsel, does not follow leads of the Spirit etc. King Ahaziah, son of Ahab, fell down from the lattice, in his palace. The first thing he did was to consult the god of Ekron, Baalzebub to ask if he would recover. God pronounced death upon him and he died, 2 Kgs 1:18. God does not discourage reaching out to seek medical help or reaching out to others for help or relief. What He condemns is reaching out to the gods of this world. Seeking sorcerers, diviners, enchanters, seeking to appease ancestors, is most condemned by God. Deut 18:10 ► *There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,* *Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.* *For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD:...."* Do not attend to any person who directs you to sorcerers for solutions to your life's problems. It is evil, it is sin in the eyes of God. The power to heal rests in Jesus. All power belongs to God! *Remorse corner.* If you seek after a god for healing, death will still come one day. Where will you go when it comes? If you seek Christ, He does heal. Even when healing does not come, but death, you are joined with Him in death and raised to be with Him eternally. How much more, receive your healing in Jesus name. *Call to Word action.* Leviticus 19:31 ► *Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.* *The Christian clarion duty.* Proverbs 3:5 ► *Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.* Good morning all and be blessed as you come into His presence.
