*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*SIN, IN THE EYES OF GOD. (2)*
*Scripture Treasure.*
1 Kings 21:17-19 ---► *And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,*
*Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it.*
*And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
James 1 :14---► *But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.*
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Jezebel prevailed over Ahab promising him what did not belong to neither her nor him.
She hatched a sinister plot of manipulative deception and killed Naboth, 1 Kgs 21: 1-16.
Jezebel told Ahab to arise, take possession of Naboth's vineyard *"....for which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead."*
Jezebel was impliedly saying "Naboth's life has been taken in exchange for the money he could have received."
The evil men do, is open to God. The evil itself is made worse in hearts of fellow men when evil doers are indifferent about how much damage they have caused to others.
Jezebel was not only brutal. She mocked the death of Naboth conveying the information to Ahab with contempt and lack of respect for an innocent dead man.
Ahab fell into Jezebel's hands because he also was evil, ref Jam 1:14.
God saw it all, it was evil in His eyes and death must come upon Jezebel and Ahab.
*"The soul that sinneth, it shall die.*"Ezek 18:20.
God pronounced retributive justice that came to pass, inspite of Ahab's remorse in 1 Kings 21:29.
*Remorse corner.*
Though Ahab humbled himself before God and God did say, He would not visit the inquity in his days (1 Kgs 21:29), but Ahab did not relent in his evil so God took him down, 1 Kgs 22:37-38.
*Call to Word action.*
Romans 6:1-2 ---► *What shall we say then?* *Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?*
*God forbid....."*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
God judges sin.
*Prayer.*
Lord help me. Let me love righteousness and hate inquity, in Jesus name.
Good morning all and have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
