*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*RED FLAG ALERT!*
*Scripture Treasure.*
2 Chro 18:23, 27 *Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the Lord from me to speak unto thee?*
*And Micaiah said, If thou certainly return in peace, then hath not the Lord spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
God goes ahead of us in a timely preparation for future eventualities.
We will avoid calamities only if we follow Him.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
God's power of providence is His ability to foresee. Everything in future is foreseeable to God.
This attribute of God sustains, guiding us towards our predetermined destinies.
The king of Israel, Ahab, was preparing to go to war. He invited king Jehoshaphat the king of Judah to go with him. Jehoshaphat being a God fearing king obliged but advised, first thing foremost, that they seek God's face, 2 Chro 18:1-4
Micaiah was a true Prophet of God and the word of God was in his mouth. Kings were afraid of him. The king of Israel knew this, 2 Chron 18:7.
On the insistence of King Jehoshaphat, Ahab summoned Micaiah.
Every other prophets, under an influence of a lying spirit, had lied to the king that he would go and come back from the imminent war against the Syrians, 2 Chro 18:22.
Micaiah was persuaded to lie as other prophets had lied, 2 Chro 18:12.
He refused and told the king he will not come back alive from the war. He will die!
2 Chro 18:26. It was a red flag!
God alerts us when there is an impeding danger. The red flag sybolizes danger.
King Ahab did not follow the words of Micaiah and inspite of the red flag warning him of danger, king Ahab followed the words of the lying prophets and he died according to the word of the Lord as spoken by Micaiah, 2 Chron 18:34.
Jehoshaphat survived in a twist of event through God's providence. 2 Chro 18:31-32
People hate the truth for the sake of whatever it is that they love more than the truth. They love truth when it shines warmly on them, and hate it when it rebukes them.
King Ahab could have consolidated his reign, conquered, vanquished the Syrian oppression and come back to his throne only if he had obeyed the truth.
Do not ignore the red flag!
*Remorse corner.*
Better "to be late with flag" and correct than to be fast and wrong"
When in doubt, keep it down but remain alert.
*Call to Word action*.
Proverbs 22:3 ►(NKJV) *A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, But the simple pass on and are punished.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
