*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*PRAYER CONNECTS HEAVEN AND EARTH.*
*Scripture Treasure.*
2 Chro 7:14:
*If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Without man's prayer, God will not intervene. Without God's intervention man will be stagnant.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
God teaches us in 2 Chro 7:14 that if people who are called by His name, refuse to humble themselves and pray, God will not intervene into what happens around them.
The passage also teaches us that without God's intervention into the affairs of this world, no man can achieve anything.
Through prayers we call God to intervene in both our lives and in the world we live in.
We must always know that those who pray know that there is a God who could hear them.
They live by the scriptures that says:
*O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.*, Ps 65:2.
When men pray, they know they pray to God because they know that without Him men can not achieve His divine will.
There are people who do not believe in prayer not to talk of God.
They believe they can succeed and live without God.
In this world, people achieve 'sucess' outside God's will. There are ill-gotten wealth (Prov 10:2).
People get rich through ungodly means. There is a god of money (mammon) and the God of true life and eternal riches (ref Joshua 1:8, Matt 6:24 and Luke 16:13).
The people who do not believe God believe that by hook or crook, push to shove, one way or the other, etc they could make something out of life.
This explains why some boast that people who are not in Christ prosper and/or no one needs to be in Christ to prosper. These people must be avoided. Their ways are evil and have both life and eternal consequences.
In 2 Chro 7:14, God teaches that we ought to pray for heaven's release of abundance.
Prayer links the earth with heaven. It is the link between earth and heaven, Matt 6:9-10.
God teaches that riches from heaven which we ought to have unconditionally have now been conditioned to repentance and pleasing God.
Sin has constrained God to do what He would freely give. There would be no rain at all in any place, country or nation under God's judgment( Deut 28:24, 2 Kgs 6:25, 1 Kgs 18:1). No produce, no food.
Children of men are not willing to appease God by repentance and godly living but they choose to pursue ungodly means. They destroy their heaven because of ungodly riches of this world, Mk 8:36.
Until the children of men know that without God, they will never have any good thing in life without sorrow waiting for them at the end they will continue to pursue temporary success at the detriment of life and permanent eternal joy.
Connect with God!
*Remorse corner.*
God teaches us in 2 Chro 7:14 that if man refuse to pray, God will not intervene into the affairs of this world.
*Call to Word action.*
While people who are called by God's name is a collective identity to God's creation: both those who believe and do not, the emphasis on turning *"....from their evil ways.....and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land"* identifies a people who do not know God, are far from God and who need to reconcile with God.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Prayer is the bridge of communication between earth and heaven.
Prayer is the bridge that connects the earth with heaven. Do not burn the bridge.
*Prayer.*
Lord, let me not burn the bridge that connects me to You in prayer, in Jesus name.
Good morning all and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
Shalom.
