PRAY AND FAST WITH UNDERSTANDING (2).

*WISDOM FOR TODAY*

*PRAY AND FAST WITH UNDERSTANDING.(2)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Ephesians 6:18 *Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

*Insight and Highlight.*

Prayer is by no means a small spiritual business.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Prayer is a serious spiritual business.

It is not a business of commercials of buying and selling but a process of engaging with God.

Jesus said in Luke 2:49 *Wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?"*

It is a business that involves time.

Not only of time but time profitably spent before God, ref John 9:4.

Prayer is a spiritual connection with God, and it is important we do and present it right according to God's will.

Praying with understanding is praying according to God's will.

Do not be too much in a hurry to pray for deliverance when God has not shown you what is necessary to effect the deliverance.

Elijah's prayer life is an example of the extent to which a desperate prayer warrior can go in prayer. He cast *'....himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,....* 1 Kgs 18:42.

He prayed until the seventh time over what God had told him would happen, 1 Kgs 18:43.

Paul admonishes praying all manners of prayer, Eph 6:18.

Daniel prayed until his strength failed him, Daniel 10.

He fasted for 21 days and in Dan 10:3, he said *"......no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.*

The likes of Moses, Esther, etc, add to the list of ardent prayer intercessors.

The prayers of these people pleased God and point to the reality that our prayers must please God for Him to answer us.

In addition to pleasing God in our prayers is asking God to teach us how to pray over enemy incursion into our lives is also vital to ensuring we are praying with understanding.

There are times you may need to ask God how to pray against an arch enemy you would ordinarily have wished you prayed he/she dies.

There are times when God may want to have an enemy to be alive to see your uplifting, Ps 23:5.

There are also times when God may want you to pray that your enemy lives with a curse or dies, Ps 35, 68.

David asked God if he should go and fight an.enrmy he would have wanted to kill hurriedly and outrightly, 1 Sam 30.

If you believe it is God who answers prayers, you should obtain clearance from Him concerning what He is willing to hear from you.

Will you begin to pray with understanding?

*Remorse corner.*

Ask God to give you prayer guidance (ref 1 Chro 7:14).

*Call to Word action.*

1 John 5:14-15 *And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:*

*And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

There are times when what is needed is not long prayers, but a simple prayer according to the will of God.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to pray according to Your will, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
