*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*PLANTED BUT NOT BURIED (2).*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Genesis 37:23-24 *And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him;*
*And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Sometimes you are thrown in the pit for dead, "buried". You have not been buried but planted!
*Scripture Commentaries.*
There are times when challenges can be overbearing.
Challenges could make one lose hope.
Learning from Joseph's life, we see that God allows challenges in our lives as tests.
In Joseph's case, the test of purity in the palace was daunting.
We must pray God to change us rather than challenge us.
Jesus taught us to pray. Matt 6:13 says , *"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:*
Temptation is a challenge, but when God changes us, we will overcome as Joseph did.
Change us, Lord. Do not challenge us.
It all started with his brothers. Joseph's brothers had very bad intentions.
They wanted him dead, but for God's providence, the other brothers agreed to Reuben's advice not to kill him, Gen 37:18-22.
They, however, threw him into the pit, Gen 37:24.
On Judah's advice, they drew him out and sold him into slavery, Gen 37:29.
This began the woeful but hopeful story of Joseph.
What was going through Joseph's mind while all these were happening to him?
He must have thought there was no more hope. He might have thought he was now separated from his family, no more hope for him in life.
Little did he know that he was in the pit to be planted but not buried.
Are you in the pit of life?
You may even be losing hope on life as to what life may ever offer you.
Remember, you are only planted for something great to come.
*Remorse corner.*
Sometimes, when you are in a dark place, you might think you have been buried, but actually, you have been planted.
*Call to Word action.*
God is greater than any situation.
In the midst of trouble, God can raise a Reuben and Judah, though with bad intentions, to save His own, ref Prov 16:7.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Sometimes adversity brings us to the solution to our most complicated life problems.
*Prayer.*
Lord, bring a solution to every life's troubles that comes my way, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
