Gen 13:8-9 *And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.*

*Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.*

The opposite of peace is war.

Peace never has casualties but war has.

During any war, there are casualties, prisoners of war, deaths and most disturbing is "collateral damage" (death and sufferings of innocent people).

Peace averts sorrow.

Nobody wants his/her rights violated.

Abraham had everything at his disposal to wage war against Lot but he chose peace.

At the end of it all Lot was at his mercy inspite of his choice out of greed and covetousness.

Choose to be at peace.

Peaceful people are always vindicated by their good choices.

Abraham was pursuing peace, he was not demanding his rights., Gen 13: 5-9.

Matthew 5:9 *Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

There are times righteous wars may be necessary to gain control (2 Tim 4:17) especially when peaceful dialogue is abused. Be guided by the Spirit, Rom 12:18 *If it is possible on your part, live at peace with everyone.*

*Prayer.*

Lord fight my battles for me as l pursue peace over rights, in Jesus name.
