*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*....PAINFUL BUT GAINFUL.*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Genesis 47:9 *And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are an hundred and thirty years: few and evil have the days of the years of my life been, and have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Painful but gainful is often the a hallmark of life's journey.
Every successful person has a painful story.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Jacob, the third generation patriarch, told Pharaoh of his long and painful journey in life.
Particularly noteworthy is that his painful sojourn was a combination of three factors, namely; his mother; Rebecca's deception, his own manipulative deception to his father Isaac and the retributive treatment he received from his uncle and eventual in-law, Laban.
All was working to achieve God's declared will that Abraham's descendant would be in Egypt.
At this time, Jacob was now in Egypt with his sons.
God always has a good plan and it is always the best. God may require our cooperation, but He does not need any help to achieve His Divine Purpose.
Trying to help God rather than cooperating with Him made life hard for Jacob. He was already chosen before he was born, Gen 25:23, Rom 9:11.
Jacob became highly successful but not without pain.
The good thing is that the purpose of God concerning his election as the progenitor of the nation of lsrael was fulfilled.
His life is a good lesson. Success does come with some problems.
Also, though we go through painful journeys in life, either caused by our neglect or not, God works things out to help us achieve an end. This is, however, dependent on our continued trust in Him to come through for us.
Are you on a seemingly long and painful journey? Continue to trust Him.
It shall no longer be long. God is nearer to you than the clothes you are wearing!
*Remorse corner.*
Every successful person has a painful story.
Every painful story has a successful ending.

2 Timothy 4:7 *l have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Accept the pain and receive the gain.
Jacob, renamed Israel, became a nation, a chosen generation of people.
*Prayer.*
Lord, turn my story to glory. Turn my pain to gain for Your Kingdom, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
