*Scripture Treasure.*
1 Sam 17:47
*And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give you into our hands.*
2 Chron 20:15
*Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
God can save by one, and He can save by many.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
While God can save without needing anyone, He can also save by one and/or by many.
Psalm 10:20 tells us that He can save or bring deliverance by His word, Ps 107:20.
These make God the best choice for anyone.
The one who believes in God knows the battle may be against him but is not for him to fight. Not that he does not know he would fight, but he knows whoever fights him is fighting God, so why would he fight alongside God. God had better do the fighting. He would not be needing him.
David's win with a stone and a sling against a giant with a shield, spear and a sword along with a huge presence of fearful looking Phillistine army underscores the power of the invisible God triumphing in the hands of a mere mortal.
God truly taught his hands to war, as David said in Psalm 18:34 *He teaches my hands to war.*
He gave him the ability to fight and the necessary skills and power to face Goliath.
Jehoshaphat organized praise singers, and God took charge. The anticipated physical combat and struggles were given a spiritual turnaround.
In contrast to David asserting that the battle was the Lord's, God told Jehoshaphat that the battle was His.
It was not that David and Jehoshaphat were not prepared on their own but their stories teach us that as much as it is good to prepare we must never be carried away to forget God as one on whom our strength lies.
To rely solely on the strength of our preparation is to go into war and end up losing as if we were never prepared or fought at all, ref Prov 21:31.
The hope we have when we say the battle is God's and when God tells us that the battle is His are reasons to tell us how confident we are of God's powerful control over warfare and how God is out to win any battle for us.
If you do not want Satan to dominate you, stay on God!
*Remorse corner.*
If you know the importance of triumphing over your enemies, sickness, and the challenges of this world, you will know how important it is to be on God's side and He on your side.
*Call to Word action.*
2 Kgs 19:35 and Is 37:36 tell us how God's angels destroyed 185000 Assyrian soldiers.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
When you have a relationship with God, you will confidently say the battle is God's.
When God is on your side, He will tell you the battle is His.
*Prayer.*
Lord, let every battle l face be Your battle to fight on my behalf. Let me confidently say in every battle l face in life that the battle is Yours, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
