Mark 5:9 : *And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Where Satan outnumbered, he disorganized.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Perhaps the scripture that underscores how important the believer must know that his enemies are very large in number is Mark 5:9.

The man possessed with the unclean spirit is a perfect example of a life outnumbered by a vast majority of demonic presence.

He was no longer in control of himself, and while some people could be disorganized yet find a way to organize themselves again, he was so senselessly and hopelessly disorganized.

Mark 5:1-16 tells us how destructive demonic possession of a person can totally take control of him.

Demonic possession is so bad that the man possessed was hurting himself and crying as he did yet could not stop because he was under demonic compulsion to abuse or possibly end up killing himself.

Mark 5:5 says *".....night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones."*

The good news was that though he was under the attack of demons, he still knew and was able to recognize Jesus.

Mark 5:6 says *"...when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,..."*

Jesus was too powerful and significantly many to be ignored. He commanded so much around Him that the man with the unclean spirit could not but recognize the power and presence of His divine nature.

The demonically possessed man saw deliverance but did not see the need for it.

We see in this passage that though those under demonic influence may be able to see or recognize their deliverance when it is presented to them but they can refuse, resist, or frustrate it.

For example, there are people who refuse deliverance or avoid where deliverance is preached or administered.

Mark 5 teaches us that the devil knows Jesus and where His true power is manifested, ref Acts 19: 13-16, Jam 2:19.

It shows us that the people of darkness can seek our favor to leave them alone. It tells us the power we have. They are to be subjected to us, not we subject ourselves to beg them,

Mark 5:10-12.

As Jesus refused their pleading so we ought not accept the pleading of the enemy to spare them. It is a snare. Do not let down your guards.

Jesus refused. He sent the evil spirit in the swines, and they choked until they perished, Mark 5:13.

We must never be lazy to protect ourselves from evil forces. We must earnestly pray for God's protection through the power of Jesus.

This story teaches us that a life unguarded by Jesus once occupied by Satan could go through severe unbearable torments.

In this life, we have seen how people are so severely tormented and destroyed for their refusal to come to Jesus.

Some who came to Jesus, though later are delivered, have themselves to blame by the leftover damage Satan had left as indelible marks in their lives forever.

Do not expose your life to being outnumbered by legions or allow your sense to be disorganized with insanity.

You do not know when the devil may strike, but you are well prepared to ward off his attack when you have Jesus. He will ever be there to protect you.

He fixes everything for His righteous!

*Remorse corner.*

The presence of Jesus frightened a legion of many demons.

*Call to Word action.*

Jesus in you and you in conjuction with Jesus makes you head over witches and wizard.

Colossians 2:10, it says, *"....and you are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power"*.

Jesus has a rule over them, and He has the power to disarm them, Eph 1:21, Col 2:15.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Do you want demons to bow to you?

A legion begged Jesus. Jesus in you will bring down the most wicked number of demons.

*Prayer.*

Lord, let no demons dominate me. Let my life glorify Jesus, in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
