OLDER THAN GOD (2).

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*'OLDER' THAN GOD (2)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Phillipians 2: 6-7 *Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:*

*But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:*

*Insight and Highlight.*

John the Baptist, though older, humbled and submitted to Christ.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Some things, if not all, in the Kingdom can not be achieved until we bring ourselves to the level to which attainability is possible.

They could only be possible if we humble and submit ourselves.

John was older than Jesus. He was His forerunner, he baptised Him, he had disciples before Jesus did, yet was humble to set boundaries he could not cross.

He knew Jesus had something he did not have and was secure enough to tell everyone near and far who Jesus was.

John knew seniority was not anointing, and neither was being junior.

The forerunner whom God sent knew he *....was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.* John 1:8.

John was the light, Jesus was the Light.

The one sent to bear witness declared that though people knew him first, he must decrease because the One whom the world knew not must increase. Jesus is the One whom they must know.

Four important but ignored truths are as follows.

First, we must be careful not to make ourselves known more than Jesus.

Second, we must be careful when people begin to see us more than they see Jesus.

Third, we must be careful even when a miracle is done through us, but we are not ascribed any honor, yet we, from our hearts, are offended by the omission.

Fourth, we must be quick to correct and point people to the miracle worker when people fail to mention God more than they have mentioned us.

People will be people. Some of them often believe in whom they see more than Jesus they have not seen, but we must let them know that the Jesus they have not seen or applauded is the miracle worker.

Though Herod was evil and his sin had reached a point of no return, it could be possible that if he had immediately corrected the people, Acts 12:22-24.

Herod's life teaches us that God listens to every conversation, and He is quick to judge when people see themselves as more than God.

John was older than Christ, yet he knew nothing without Christ, how much less you.

You can not know more than Christ!

You are not older than God!

Behave yourself.

*Remorse corner.*

John was wise. He knew, though he was six months older than Jesus, he was nothing compared to the Jesus.

*Call to Word action.*

John was wise to know that though he was the forerunner, he was not the same as the Jesus who *....was in the beginning with God.*

John 1:1-2 *In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.*

*The same was in the beginning with God.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

John was the first human revelation of Christ to the people. He set boundaries, and he never crossed them, Luke 3:16.

*I indeed baptize you with water;....

he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:*

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me not to see myself more than l see Christ in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
