LIFE: A DAY AT A TIME (2)

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*LIFE: A DAY AT A TIME (2)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Job 7:1 *Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?*

*Insight and Highlight.*

We are admonished to live a day at a time, take a step at a time.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

As we are admonished to take a day at a time, preparing for tomorrow is also strongly encouraged by God.

As you take a step at a time, preparing yourself for the next step is encouraged.

Heb 11:40 tells us that God has planned *'....some better thing for us,...'*

Prov 16:1 says *The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.*

These point to the truth that to prepare for tomorrow is very good.

Jesus's word in Matt 6:34 admonishing us not to worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself, is not speaking against planning for tomorrow.

Jesus is only saying to us not to worry about tomorrow.

Plan, do all you could ahead of your tomorrow, but you must commit all to Him. He is saying to us that though we could plan, none of us has the power to subdue the evil of tomorrow except through Him.

Christ is saying only He could make our tomorrow a success as long as we commit our plans to Him. Our worrying will not achieve anything for us.

The warrior prepares the horse for the day of battle, but safety is of the Lord, Prov 21:31.

Job 7:1 says a man's life is as a hireling, a laborer hired for pay.

A laborer receives his pay for his daily job. He sees tomorrow as another day.

He does not worry about tomorrow, but he wakes up tomorrow morning, preparing for the day's job. He sleeps, preparing for the next day's job, and he enjoys his sleep, Eccl 5:12

Christ is interested in our yesterday, today and tomorrow unto eternity, Heb 13:8.

Christ is interested in our tomorrow, so plan for it. A successful day is a product of yesterday's careful preparation.

*Remorse corner.*

Take life as a day at a time, a step after the other. As you take a day as a step at a time, carefully prepare for the next step.

*Call to Word action.*

Jer 29:11 *For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Let us plan for tomorrow because God plans ahead, too. He has plans and thoughts towards us.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me as l take life a day and a step at a time. Help me carefully plan for the step ahead, carrying you along in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
