*...LIE IN WAIT AT YOUR NEIGHBOUR'S DOOR?*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Job 31:10-11 *If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour's door;*

*Then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Do you lie in wait at your neighbor's door? When a man sleeps with another man's wife, he will be punished

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Do you lie in wait at your neighbor's door? If you do, you are an adulterer!

Job was accused of waiting at his neighbour's door.

He replied to his accusers, saying if he ever committed adultery, other men would sleep with his wife.

By placing a curse on his wife, he was saying he never committed adultery.

Can you say this as a man or woman?

God have mercy, in Jesus name.

You must change today and choose purity.

Job's statement can also be interpreted as where a married person sleeps with any other other than his/her spouse. This is what he means by a 'neighbor' here. This is adultery.

A neighbor means more than the people next door to you. Job uses this word to refer to people to whom you are supposed to be a role model to, a friend to, yet you are a sexual predator and are committing evil against them, (ref compare Matt 22:39)

Job proved he would not do that to his neighbor whom he was to love as he loved himself, Matt 22:39.

Job's evolution from an innocent sufferer to a victim of wrongful accusation of adultery made a statement that remained one of his most credible explanations that he never was an adulterer.

All other accusations by his miserable friends were without a curse on his wife. They were on himself and none others.

Job's statement is a cause for self-examination.

Job's statement is correctly interpreted to sex; which is that the woman being ground upon under the man.

How would you, as a man, stand to see or hear your wife sleeps with other men?

How would you, as a man, stand to see or hear your wife has every right to go ahead and sleep with anyone she wants to?

How would you, as a man, stand to see or hear your wife be punished like this?

All because you allow yourself to be seduced by a woman and conspired to go to bed with her.

All because of your indiscriminate and illicit affection for other women.

Job's wife may appear under a curse, but there is more of a curse from God for the man who commits adultery.

First, all adulterers will go to hell.

1 Cor 6:9-10 *Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor sexual perverts, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God.*

Second, they can not escape God's judgment. Adultery is contrary to what should characterize anyone's life as a believer. Such behavior as this in parallel with fornication and when found with a person is an indication that the person was not a Christian.

This is because they are associated with the unbelieving world.

God takes this grievous sin personal.

He says He Himself will destroy those who sin with their bodies

1 Cor 6:13 *Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.*

Leviticus 20:10-12: which reads: *If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, even with the wife of his neighbour, both the adulterer and adulteress must be put to death...*

Men and women must think of Job's words jointly. None of the two is permitted by God to cheat on one another.

Repent and let us fear God!

*Remorse corner.*

Be faithful to yourself and others as a single.

*Call to Word Action.*

Be faithful to your spouse and avoid sexual immorality.

Prov 5:15, 17 *Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.*

*Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Luke 6:31 *And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.*

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to observe sexual purity in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
